AMERICAN HISTORY CURRICULUM

This course starts with the beginning of civilizations in the New World.  It covers the impact of the Crusades on the desire to explore and establish foreign markets.  The resulting discovery of the New World and the attempt to colonize it by the "Super Powers" of the time are detailed and explained.  The eventual break away of the colonies from England and the establishment of a new American governing system are explained.  The expansion of America and the eventual Civil War are studied.  The Reconstruction period and the Industrial Era are reviewed along with the Great Depression and the New Deal.  The final trimester dives into the Civil Rights era and the major conflicts America has been involved with in the last century.  Citizenship, servant leadership along with acting responsible and accepting responsability for one actions are constant themes in the course.
